Dr. Melissa Linderer
Originally from Lincoln, Nebraska, Dr. Linderer has wanted to be a veterinarian since she learned to spell the word in the 2nd grade. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Science with a minor in Animal Science from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, and went on to Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine with a clinical year at Oklahoma State University, where she met her husband, Scott. They are excited to relocate to Kernersville with their Newfoundland “Groot” (found on Facebook and Instagram @Grootapotamus), St. Kitts island mix “Binx”, Calico Domestic Shorthair “Nelle”, and Maine Coon mix “Cadbury”.
When Dr. Linderer isn’t at work, she enjoys hiking, video games, gardening, home improvement projects, and travel, both international and domestic to state and national parks. She hopes to be able to check the last continent (Antarctica) off her list soon.
Dr. Linderer’s favorite parts of being a veterinarian are animal behavior, client education, and new puppy/kitten visits. She wishes she could tell every pet owner that “heartworm prevention is far less expensive than heartworm treatment” and “you CAN teach an old dog (or cat) new tricks!”
